CANCER victim Phil Potter's last dance raised over £1,000.
Family and friends of the Atherton sportsman who died last June organised the event at Formby Hall to raise cash for Christie's.
Phil, 52, had hoped to be able to be involved in the organisation of a dance to thank the hospital for its treatment, but it was not to be.
Wife Pat, of Leighton Avenue, Atherton, (pictured with photograph of Phil) and best friend Christine Green decided the show must go on and over 300 tickets were sold in Phil's memory.
Phil was a keen fisherman and played bowls and snooker for Atherton Conservative Club.
Christine said: "We would like to thank everyone who helped raise this total. Phil would have been really pleased."
