I WAS not shocked to read about "Pensioner's" flat being broken into (Your Letters, April 9).
Pensioners are treated worse than criminals in this country. Maybe the solution for "Pensioner" would be to commit some crimes, get caught, and be put in a secure, warm place with three meals a day. Then "Pensioner" wouldn't have to choose between keeping warm or eating.
As for the loss of freedom, what freedom do you have when you are a prisoner in your own home, afraid to go out for fear of being robbed or assaulted?
Maybe if society treated criminals as bad as it treats pensioners it might deter them!
