St Helens School under 13s nil Wigan Schools 24
ST HELENS Schools' only hopes for a piece of silverware this year were shattered at Knowsley Road in the English Schools Cup final.
St Helens competed well in the first quarter of the game but Wigan's strength and speed proved to be too strong for St Helens who never really played to their full potential.
Best for St Helens were the NASUWT man of the match David Hull, Craig Tipene and Ian Gwilliam who worked tirelessly in defence, Matthew Foley and Mark Beech.
Coach Kevin Tipene would like to thank Bill Holding and Saints for the use of Knowsley Road, and Apollo Perelini and Keiron Cunningham for presenting the medals.
