A BUS driver had to be treated in hospital for concussion and facial brusing after a seemingly motiveless attack.
The driver was sitting in the cab of his empty bus at a stop in Boardmans Lane, Blackbrook, at about 8.50pm on Sunday, April 18, when the incident took place.
As he was consulting his timetable, he looked up to see two or three youths walking towards the bus. Without warning, one of them threw something which hit him in the face, leaving him groggy. When he came round, he saw a four-inch bolt lying nearby but nothing had been stolen in the attack.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the attack is asked to contact DC Boyd at St Helens CID on 0151 777 6064 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
