LANCASTER City Football Club needs you, the people of the city, to rally to the cause.
The ambitious club is exploring every avenue in an effort to find money to redevelop the ground (at an estimated cost of £200,000) so it would be good enough for the Football Conference.
But there's no way they can achieve it without the help of their own people - that's why they've launched the Conference 2000 Appeal.
As commercial manager at the club, Dave Horner, said: "In the event of the club winning the championship within the next two years we could not stomach not being promoted to the higher league because of insufficiencies in the ground facilities."
Here are a list of fun events where you can help your club:
a sponsored walk on Sunday May 16 from the Giant Axe to The Stork.
sponsored golf day at Lancaster Golf Club (caddies needed) on Monday, June 7
sponsored cricket match between players and management of Lancaster City and Morecambe AFC in September
a giant raffle on Gala Day - first prize a holiday for two up to a cost of £500.
other ideas include a maggot race night, a beer festival, a race night, antiques fair, computer fair and walking treasure hunt.
For information on any of the above call the club on (01524) 382238.
