TWO members of staff at a Pendle nursery school splashed out with a fund-raising swim for a national charity and a worthy cause closer to home.
Nursery nurse Jayne Parker and teacher Linda Porter, who work at McMillan Day Nursery, Railway Street, Nelson, took part in the nationwide BT Swimathon fund-raising campaign, completing seven miles each up and down the pool at Pendle Leisure Centre, Colne.
Between them they raised £375 of which £150 will go to the NSPCC, the Swimathon's beneficiary, and the remainder towards buying a tricycle for the nursery.
