CARL Sutton and Karen Watson ensured wide interest in their wedding when they invited their pet dogs to be attendants!
For the vicar wasn't the only one wearing a dog collar as the happy couple got hitched at St Anne's Church, Fence.
Waiting patiently outside were the bride's attendants, Dogue de Bordeaux Bridget, Phoebe and Bair.
It was a unique occasion - and one which attracted national Press coverage and virtually the entire village to witness the spectacle.
Dog beautician Karen of Sutton-in-Craven explained: "We didn't have any young girls in either family and to us the dogs are our family, so it was an easy decision."
After the ceremony the bride and groom left with their 120 guests for a reception at Reedley Squash Club, while the dogs went home to Fence, for a special spread of their own.
Carl's mum Anne, a top dog shower and expert in the Dogue de Bordeaux breed said: "Everything went fantastically well - we couldn't have hoped for better and Carl and Karen were delighted."
She added: "Karen would have loved to have taken the dogs on honeymoon with them to Italy - but quarantine laws forbid!"
