LANCASHIRE police have thanked people for their vigilance after the arrest of a man in connection with the recent bomb attacks in London.
Minority communities across the county were warned to be on their guard following nail bombings in London's Brixton and Brick Lane.
And a third bombing, in Soho, last Friday heightened local concern.
A 22-year-old Hampshire man appeared in court yesterday charged in connection with the bombings and with the murder of three victims of the Soho bomb. Superintendent Clive Helliwell, of Lancashire police, said: "There was never any suggestion that a specific threat was directed at any one person or group of persons within Lancashire. However, events in London have highlighted the need for continued vigilance to address any future threat.
"Clearly we should not become complacent."
