BLACKBURN veteran road man Dave Hargreaves pulled off his best win to date over the May Day weekend by taking the overall winner's jersey after 120 tough racing miles in the three-day league of veteran racing cyclists tour of the Abberleys held near Stourbridge-on-Severn.
With two events running concurrently covering 40 to 50 year olds and over 50 year olds, Dave rode in the second event and after the first 42-mile stage on Saturday took over the yellow jersey.
After 40 miles on Sunday and the final 38 on Monday, Dave was declared overall winner by one second from Pete Halliwell of the Horwich Cycling Club.
