THE victim of a house fire in Padiham has been named as 30-year-old Jane Nazurally. Formal identification was made through dental records.
Police said that Miss Nazurally had been lodging at the house in Victoria Road for two weeks.
The cause of the inferno on Saturday night is still under investigation.
The victim's mother lives in the General Hospital area of Burnley. She was too upset to talk today. Miss Nazurally's late father was a charge nurse at the hospital.
Det Insp Ronnie Griffiths said: "Formal identification has now been made. The coroner has been informed but no inquest date has yet been fixed.
"We are still awaiting investigation reports from the fire service and forensic science laboratory to establish the cause of the fire."
