PRESTON hope to make it three wins on the trot this weekend as they travel to Blackpool in the Vaux Northern League.
Currently, both teams have won two of their first three games but spirits are currently incredibly high at South Meadow Lane following Preston's first two wins in just short of two years.
Leyland DAF will be hoping to kick-start their season with a win away to Lancaster, another team who have failed to notch up a win this season.
It has been a pitiful start for DAF this year, especially considering last year's excellent season, which saw them in contention for the league title for much of the year.
Two crushing defeats over the bank holiday weekend - a nine wicket annihilation at the hands of St Annes followed in quick succession by a 53 run home defeat at the hands of Preston - have left the fans more than a little unimpressed.
A win this weekend is a must. Any more defeats will mean DAF are at the wrong end of the table as the gulf between top and bottom begins to widen.
Their neighbours in Fox Lane, Leyland Cricket Club, are at home to high-flying Kendal. Leyland failed to shine during the bank holiday, notching up two defeats on the trot - one against Preston.
And who would have thought it was Preston who were performing most like championship contenders out of our three local sides at the start of the season?
