CONGRATULATIONS to our now litter aware council for their wonderful efforts during the "Streets Ahead" festival on Monday!
By one o'clock every bin the town centre seemed to be full to overflowing, added to which we had the usual lazy pigs who throw their litter anywhere they feel like. The town centre was an absolute disgrace, without a cleansing person in sight.
The "Streets Ahead" event probably attracted people to Bury who might not usually come. They won't have left with a very good impression, will they?
How can we take seriously the rhetoric about cleaning up our town currently being spouted by the council? Could a cleansing official or councillor use these columns to tell us how and where our money will be spent, because recently things seem to have got worse, not better.
