JOYCE Macdonald, media manager of the Fair Trades Advisory Bureau, urges readers to contact her bureau in order to avoid cowboy tradespeople (Citizen April 29).
Perhaps if organisations such as LAWTEC had not done so much to encourage the growth of small companies, such a 'bureau' would not be required.
Perhaps if the former government had not set such store in competitive tendering in public services, so many dependent on such services would not have endured cowboy workmanship, shoddy goods and/or services in the first place.
