LEYLAND residents unhappy about the mammoth nature of South Ribble Borough Council's Towngate plans have formed an action group.
STAG - South Towngate Action Group - have collected 350 signatures on a petition concerning - not opposing - the redevelopment.
Concerns brought up included the lack of public consultation, loss of woodland to a theme pub, loss of allotments and Air Training Cadets accommodation along with an increase in traffic.
Many people polled expressed the view that a development was desperately needed but should be designed to fit into the existing conservation area.
