YMCA's Bank Holiday weekend seven-a-side tournament staged at their Seafield Rd sportsfield proved a great success.
The event consisted of an U8s competition on Saturday (May 1) and an U9s competition on Sunday and it attracted clubs from East Lancs, Preston, Bolton and Manchester as well as local teams.
The U8s competition was won by local side Foxhall FC who greatly impressed throughout the day.
They beat Preston-based Ribble Wanderers in the final 3-1.
In the U9s competition YMCA looked as though they were going to romp through to the semi-finals after winning their opening five games.
However, they lost their last two games and failed to qualify.
Darwen outfit Akzo Nobel and Poulton Youth contested the final, the Akzo side eventually winning 2-0.
