ANTLEY maintained their unbeaten start against Whalley A, but are confined to second place a point behind the leaders Great Harwood who scored a bigger win over Rishton Con A in the Great Harwood and District Bowling League first division.
Ribblesdale A are third after a great result away to Globe A. Haslingden had a narrow victory at home to Salesbury A who find themselves next to bottom, one point above Burnley Road B, who went down at Rushton St A.
Clitheroe Cricket lead Division Two after a near maximum against Rishton BC, closely followed by Waddington A who beat Spring Hill. Clayton Gatty were held at home by Come and Welcome as were Ribblesdale B by Coppice. Hurst Green A have yet to get off the mark at the bottom, going down heavily to Free Gardeners.
Globe B stormed Castle A, then took full advantage of their game in hand against Sabden Black to join Whalley B, victors over strugglers Castle B at the top of Division Three. Burnley Road A lost ground thanks to their surprise home defeat by Rushton St B. Leisure Hour B look early favourites for promotion, with an impressive away win at Rishton Con B, but Sydney Street and Immanuel won't be far behind after success against Milnshaw Wanderers and Waddington B respectively. Hurst Green B scraped home against newcomers Mercer Park, and will now be looking to improve their record of one victory in the previous two seasons.
