PRESTON may have failed to turn on the style for the past few weeks on the pitch - but they are set to be the trendsetters fashion-wise on the field after they unveiled their new designer kit, pictured.
The red and navy blue kit will be worn for the first time on Saturday against Fulham and is a result of an experiment at an away game earlier this season which saw Preston mix their kits because both of the current kits clashed with Bristol Rovers' shirts.
Designer Steve White said: "We chose red because it gives us less chance of clashing with the opposition.
"The Royal Blue kit we launched two years ago was hugely popular with the fans but it often clashed with other teams' kits."
A plain white 'Inter' style home kit goes on sale over the summer. Deputy Chairman Derek Shaw defended the changes, saying it was what the fans wanted.
