ANIMAL lovers hit the jackpot this week and were a step closer in their latest bid to raise another £10,000 for a national game park in Kenya.
Under the Asda Foundation scheme £500 was donated by the Pilsworth store to support the work of the Children of the Sheldrick Trust.
The money, which was raised by pooling the profits made from the Wednesday lottery draw ticket sales, will go towards the trust's aim to provide a windmill in Tsavo East National Game Park by the end of the year.
The trust is made up of a group of pupils from Bury CE High School. Since it was established in 1993 the "children" have adopted and paid for the upkeep of animals at the park.
They have also raised £10,000 for a lorry, and a further £10,000 for a borehole.
Jackie Vet, group co-ordinator, said: "This latest donation brings us up to £3,000 and we hope we can raise the extra £7,000 needed for the windmill by the end of the year."
