A GROUP of enterprising students from Newton High School proved their business brains in the St Helens Young Enterprise contest.
The competition, sponsored by the Haydock-based Nichols Foods, asks entrants to set up their own hypothetical busines. And the group of 15 lower-sixth students established GOFA - Garden Outdoor Furniture and Accessories - where products are made and sold by team members at the school. The students have all obviously found their niche as their business skills have already won them six awards.
The students are now preparing to compete against four other schools in the Merseyside Finals, which, if they win, will give them a ticket to the prestigious North West Final stage.
