ST HELENS Council's Ranger Service have a varied programme for ramblers and walkers this month.
A six-mile historical guided walk along the Sankey Way starts at 10.30am from Blackbrook visitor centre on Sunday, May 16. The tour will focus on natural history and its present-day links with the Mersey Forest. Suitable clothing and a packed lunch are needed.
On the following Sunday (May 23) starting at St Helens Junction railway station at 10.30am you can put your best foot forward on an energetic nine-mile ramble along the rural lanes and public rights of way footpaths of the Bold Loop.
Meanwhile, every Wednesday throughout May you can join the Ranger Service and British Trust Conservation Volunteers on construction tasks along the Sankey Valley country park such as bridge repairs and post and rail and wire fencing.
