A CONSORTIUM of doctors and businessmen bought Burnley's Victoria Hospital and aimed to turn it into a 71-bed private nursing home.
The group, led by Blackburn GP, Dr D Gupta, had put forward a planning application to use the former medical wards at the hospital for the home, district health chiefs were told.
