TOP Break (Burnley) were too strong for Hoddlesden Con Club in the semi-finals of the Lancashire small table snooker tournament at Claremont Con Club, Blackpool, last night. Top Break, runners up two years ago, won 4-2.
Captain Harry Gillespie clinched it with a win over John Harrop.
Tonight Star Cycling (Nelson) take on favourites Layton Institute (Blackpool) in the second semi-final at the same venue. The final is there on Thursday.
BOLTON Road bowed out of the Sir Stanley Bell snooker knockout for North West Conservative clubs when they went down 3-1 away to holders Huyton.
Gaz Hampson and Baz O'Kane lost the opening frames but skipper Steve Halliwell put the Top Con back into it before Phil Entwistle lost the fourth frame.
TOP performance in the Darwen League knockout came from the club's A team who beat their C team 7-0. Cemetery A dropped a couple of points against their B team.
