UPWARD-looking Burnley will have a high-profile launch to next season after lining up prestigious friendlies against Premiership opposition.
The Clarets will play Everton and newly-promoted Sunderland at Turf Moor as part of their pre-season preparations.
Burnley will entertain Everton on Thursday, July 22 and Peter Reid will then bring his First Division champions to Turf Moor on Sunday, July 25.
The fixtures should guarantee bumper gates, with both Everton and Sunderland likely to bring substantial travelling support.
And the calibre of the opposition will give Burnley a major test ahead of the start of their Second Division campaign on Saturday, August 7.
Burnley will be basing their pre-season build-up locally, with manager Stan Ternent currently working on a number of other warm-up games.
