REGARDING the excavation in the grounds of Blackburn Cathedral (LET, April 17), as a lad in the late 1930s, I worked at Taylor's chemists and these cellars which have been exposed were part of their shop at No 7 Darwen Street.
Incidentally, under a flagstone there, I put a jar with my name and address in it - at that time I lived in Mill Hill. Next to the shop was the road to the Cathedral, and the Legs o' Man pub at No 5. On the other side of the shop was the County public house, No 9.
