A COMMUNITY group has created a peaceful haven in Blackburn.
The Safe Haven Community Garden has been built by members of the Langham Road Local Focus Group, with help from Blackburn with Darwen Council.
The group, which produces a newsletter on local issues, asked the council if they could transform an area of grassed land between Shear Brow and Langham Road into a community garden. Local people contributed ideas to the design. Editor of the Local Focus newsletter, Mark Dixon, and his colleagues Marjorie Copeland and Sandra Almond have now started to plan future gardening projects.
