ONE of France's biggest distributors is setting up HQ in Leigh.
Norbert Dentressangle is to build a new 26,000 sq ft base on Leigh Commerce Park.
Arrowcroft Northwest, the strategic development partner of United Utilities plc, has secured the company as part of a joint venture with Albion Land, and the new building forms phase one of the development.
Christopher Fox, managing director of Arrowcroft Northwest, said: "We are delighted to bring the firm to Leigh which is an ideal location for their new regional HQ.
"The rapid access to the M6, M62, Manchester, Warrington and Liverpool makes this strategic site ideal for distribution purposes."
The park is situated in 60 acres of land and other tenants include Volex Powercords, Swift Transport Services and Leighton Packaging.
Adrian Hardy, head of economic development at Wigan Council, said: "We are very pleased to see this new company on board.
"This clearely demonstartes the accessibility of Leigh as a location and the quality of deals that can be done in this area. We look forward to similar high profile companies coming to Leigh in future."
