YOUNGSTERS from Layton Primary School were in for plenty of surprises when they went down to the woods recently.
Parks staff from Blackpool Council arranged for the children to take part in a nature treasure hunt and picturesque walk in Stanley Park and the nearby woodland garden to celebrate the Tree Council's Esso Walk In The Woods campaign.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage people to visit and enjoy national woodlands.
