THE Lytham St Annes Road Runners celebrated the club's first anniversary with an excellent turn-out at the Blackpool 10K fun run.
Fourteen members of the club took part in the charity race and Tim Gibson was the first home in 39 minutes and 86th place.
He was closely followed by Geoff Dodd and David Dunne (both with times of 39.15) in 94th and 100th places.
The other participants were founder member Bryan Grundy, Paul and Doreen Walsh, Amanda Rosewell, Ron Adams, Gary and Elaine Wright, Rod Fisher, John and Linda Cole and Norman Woolacott. The Lytham Club has grown considerably since Bryan founded it last year.
He said: "The Blackpool race was a good run and we had a great turn out for it.
"At the moment the club's numbers are swelling as every week passes and we have some exceptionally talented runners who are improving all of the time.
"We like to combine training and racing with social activities and have a wide age and ability range." Lytham St Annes Road Runners is an affiliated club and members meet at the YMCA Community Sports Centre on Mythop Road on Tuesdays at 6.15pm and at Lytham Conservative Club at 7pm on Thursdays and 9.30am on Sundays.
New members are always welcome.
