EVERYONE knows an elephant never forgets - but two classmates couldn't believe it when they were invited to take part in a road awareness reminder with a difference.
Blackpool Council's road safety chiefs wanted to make sure local youngsters would remember its Walk To And From School Week from May 17-21.
So they arranged for Mereside Primary School pupils Ryan Clark and Alan Threlfall, both six, to meet Blackpool Zoo's Indian elephants Katie and Crumple to help the event go with a swing.
Children at schools across town have been building up huge pictures of elephants with grey stickers they earn every time they travel by foot instead of car.
The class that collects the most stickers will win a huge party at Blackpool Zoo on July 5.
