VIOLENCE against social services staff has hit an all-time high according to a Blackpool social worker (Citizen, April 29).
We also read that Health Minister John Hutton has announced action must be taken to protect social services staff.
Action must also be taken to channel the energies of young people responsible for such violence into healthy sport, character building and social service.
Boredom breeds frustration and frustration often breeds violence.
Young people need exciting, colourful, dynamic sport to occupy their minds and their bodies positively and constructively.
Youngsters need a sense of worthwhile purpose and a sense of heroic achievement.
