PEOPLE can get their first look at plans for a new shopping parade set to rise out of the demolished Elms Precinct in Whitefield.
An application by owners Northwestern Properties to build a parade of shops at Green Lane adjacent to the square is available for inspection at Bury Council's planning department in Craig House, Bank Street, Bury.
The scheme involves the demolition of three vacant shops on Bury New Road and the creation of a two-storey retail unit, roughly the size of a small supermarket, and five smaller units all connected by a first-floor walkway.
There are, no plans for the rest of the Elms site, which is still surrounded by rubble.
