A GARAGE'S breakdown truck has had some unusual passengers over the past week.
For a bird, believed to be a robin, built a nest and laid six eggs inside its engine bay. Now Finney's Garage Services proprietor, Mr David Hurcombe, is hoping he gets no more callouts until the clutch is hatched.
Mr Hurcombe (pictured with the truck) had no idea that the bird was nesting until Tuesday morning when checked the oil and a bird shot out of the engine bay.
"The truck is used almost every day so it must have built its nest and laid the eggs in between trips," he said.
Now Mr Hurcombe has parked the vehicle at the back of his Manchester Road premises and hopes the mother bird will return.
