ONE of Burnley's best-known town centre venues has countered reports that it may be demolished - by launching a new series of alternative music events.
The Comfort Inn, in Keirby Walk, is set to host live bands, an indie night and a Sunday blues lunch this month and future events pencilled in include charity band nights and dance events.
Tonight the first floor Collons Bar promises to play host to funky bass-driven beats as the Dexterity Allstars and The Handroids perform alongside DJs and breakdancers.
The Sunday Lunch Blues series of events kicks off tomorrow with rhythm and blues outfit The Ducks.
A fill-your-plate Cajun carvery meal continues the authenticity of the afternoon.
Admission is free, the event starts at noon and food is served till 3pm.
Blues band The Marauders are set to play next week's event.
Young Pendle upstarts Element are set to play the venue's Keirby Suite on May 22, while alternative music night The Asylum continues, providing indie and rock tunes in much the same vein as the old Mud Club.
