PEOPLE keep going on and on about cars and lorries coming into Great Harwood if a Safeways supermarket opens, but if my memory serves me right, in the past, did we not have this traffic before?
When the Oxo works, with several hundred workers, was open, did not some of them come in cars while large lorries brought raw materials and took away finished products?
The same goes for Priestleys, Hansons had more lorries coming and going and Metflex had more people working there - so more cars.
So let's get some life back into Great Harwood. It certainly can't get much worse.
D M WESTWELL (Mrs), Moss Street, Great Harwood.
