A ROBBER escaped with hundreds of pounds after threatening a shop worker on the way to the bank with the store's takings.
The worker, who had left Greggs Bakery around 5pm on Saturday with the day's takings, was confronted in Hargreaves Street, Burnley.
The robber grabbed the worker from behind and dragged him down an alleyway.
He then threatened the man and fled the scene with a black bag containing the cash.
The shop worker was left shaken but unharmed.
Police said the bags contained a substantial amount of money, understood to be hundreds of pounds.
The thief was white, stockily built, around 5ft 10in, in his late 20s and had light brown stubble.
He was wearing a dark blue baseball cap and dark blue sweatshirt.
Detectives want anyone who saw the attack or anything suspicious to contact them on 01282 425001 or 01282 472144.
They have also asked anyone who spots what they think may be the stolen bag to take it to their nearest police station.
