DRUMMER Alan Edmondson has hit the big time, winning a prestigious place with '60s band Freddie and the Dreamers.
The band, which had top ten hits such as I'm Telling You Now, You Were Made For Me and I Understand, has just completed a 52-gig tour.
Burnley man Alan's first engagement with the band will be seen by millions when they play on the Clive James Show Monday Night Clive at 10am on ITV tonight.
Alan, 47, who works for Simonstone company Granville Technology, has been drumming since he was in his 20s.
He wants to turn his hobby into a full-time career and is hoping the break with Freddie and the Dreamers will give him the chance to realise his ambition.
He has played with many local bands including Barnaby Rudge, Shake Down, Hoochie Coochie and the Uptown Band.
Alan, from the Gannow area, has also played at Butlins in Minehead and was half a duo playing at Blackpool and providing backing for other bands when he was spotted by Freddie and the Dreamers.
They liked what they saw and took his name and when their drummer left about three weeks ago they were straight on the phone to him.
