A RECONSTRUCTION of a Burnley rape attack will be shown on television today.

The attack in Padiham Road, Burnley, in the early hours of Saturday, April 24, will be highlighted on the Granada Crimefile programme.

An eighteen-year-old girl was taken 150 yards along Padiham Road into an alley alongside the Manor Barn pub where she was raped.

The officer leading the inquiry, DCI Irene Wilson, said today that police were looking at two further offences, an attack on a 38-year-old woman in Padiham Road at 2.20am on Saturday and another attack on a 16-year-old girl in Wellfield Drive, Burnley, in August.

Saturday's attacker was fought off by his intended victim. She was wearing a ring and it is believed the offender may have received a scratch to his face.

Police also think he may be living rough in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to ring the incident room on 01282 425001.
