LEE Hardy's semi-final hat-trick helped clinch a tournament triumph for Blackburn Junior Club's Select side after they saw off some tough opposition in Scotland.
There was some famous names in the prestigious Lyn Pollock Cup played at Kilmarnock but Hardy finished the tournament's most prolific player, outgunning youngsters from Sheffield Rapiers, Altrincham Jets, Paisley Warriors, Perth Blackhawks, Ayr Eagles and Dumfries Raiders.
Blackburn Select beat Paisley Warriors 4-1 in their opening match, with Adam Leaver scoring a hat-trick and Hardy also on target.
Sheffield Rapiers were their next victims - the Blackburn outfit winning 2-0.
Perth Blackhawks were also beaten, this time by a 4-0 scoreline, John Langfield scoring two, with one each for Adam Fuller and Adam Leaver. The East Lancashire contingent booked their place in the final after a thrilling 3-2 semi-final victory over Dumfries Raiders thanks to Hardy's triple - the first one within nine seconds of the face off.
Altrincham Jets came out on top in the other semi-final with a single goal win over Sheffield Rapiers.
The final proved to be even better than the semi-final with the Blackburn Select seeing off the Jets' challenge by a 6-3 scoreline with two goals coming from Peter Tapp and four from the scoring machine Hardy, who finished with most tournament points.
William Fielding was awarded Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Considering the Blackburn Select consisted of some relatively new Under-14 and Under-15 age-group players, they did extremely well and should be proud of winning their first-ever tournament for the Blackburn Junior Development.
