I FEEL very sorry for the Kosovan refugees, but I fail to understand why the closed old people's homes in Blackburn can now be opened to accommodate these unfortunate people (LET, May 12).
When they were closed it was said they were too expensive to run. Residents were moved elsewhere. Most of them were very upset at the move.
I cannot understand why it is now afforable for these home to be opened.
I would have thought our own elderly residents should have had similar consideration.
I R COOKE (Mrs), Notre Dame Gardens, Blackburn.
