TYLDESLEY swimmers struck gold in the Northern Counties age group championships at Wigan.
Richard Hampson swam a PB in the Men's 200 freestyle for gold.
Khalid Jhugroo won the 400 IM (PB-NQT) and took silver (NQT) in the 14-Year 200 breaststroke; he also took two bronzes in the 200 (NQT) and 400 freestyle.
Other golds were won in the 200 butterfly - Kate Ward in the 15-Year group and Jessica Howarth, who swam a PB, at 14-Year.
Stuart Carlisle won a silver and booked his place in this year's National age groups with his first NQT in the 15-Year 200 backstroke; he also swam a NQT in the 200 fly for a bronze.
Kelly Banner, 14, and Matthew Hampson, 16, took double silvers - Kelly in the 200 IM (NQT) and 200 backstroke, Matthew in the 200 IM (NQT) and 200 freestyle.
Richard Hampson claimed double bronze in the Men's 100 and 200 butterfly, while Matthew Hampson took bronze in the 200 breaststroke.
Jenny Coughlin, 16, swam a PB for fourth in the 200 freestyle, a position equalled by Kate Ward in the 15-Year event.
Khalid Jhugroo was fourth in the 200 backstroke and rounded off a fine day's swimming with fifth in the 200 butterfly.
Jenny Coughlin was sixth in the 200 backstroke and 400 freestyle, as did Andrew Hurst, 16, in the 200 freestyle (PB).
Other sixths went to Maria Hampson in the 200 butterfly (PB, NQT) and James Gendall, in the 400 freestyle (PB).
THREE Tyldesley swimmers had success in the City of Chester open meet at Everton Park.
Stuart Carlisle, 15, won the 100 butterfly, as well as finishing third in the 100 backstroke, fourth in the 200 butterfly, sixth in the 200 backstroke and seventh in the 50 butterfly.
He also finished first reserve in the 100 freestyle.
Sarah Wood, 12, swam a PB for second place in the 100 backstroke. She also finished third in the 100 butterfly and fourth in the 200 IM.
And she just missed out in the 100 breaststroke - losing in a swim-off for the final.
Jessica Howarth, 14, finished third in the 100 freestyle and butterfly (PB).
