RICHARD Graves claims to have been involved in "deep discussions" with the county council over the future of Fair Elms... it's a shame he didn't understand what he was told. Simply, Social Services are responding to what older people want, services that keep people in their own homes, support for older people to enjoy their independence. Homes in Lancashire are underused, over 300 surplus places costing millions. It is the department's intention to switch all the money saved to care for the elderly in their own homes Full public consultation including a public meeting will be held before any decision is made.
Cty Cllr Bob Clark
