HILTON Dawson's letter (Citizen: May 13) is certainly correct in its opening about democracy but he belongs to a party that doesn't agree because it practises political/cultural racism.
I am referring to the New Labour manifesto (page 33) which makes no provision for a devolved parliament for England although it has produced for the residents of Scotland dual representation in Edinburgh and London. My culture is disadvantaged while in this single act of devolution the culture of Scottish residents is advantaged. This is far more important than creating a racist smokescreen following the democratic defeat of the local Labour group.
