BUS and rail users in Preston and Leyland are being asked for their views on the future of public transport across the county.
Through a new consultation document available at town halls, libraries, leisure centres and county information centres, members of the public can say what they think about transport in their area.
The 'Local Transport Plan - Public Consultation' document sets out the current traffic and transport situation in Lancashire and outlines the proposals set out by the Government in the White Paper 'A New Deal For Transport - Better For Everyone'.
Residents can express their views in a questionnaire, which accompanies the glossy document.
Topics up for consultation include road safety issues, traffic reduction strategies, changes to the bus and rail network, making the most of journeys and new and existing funding for public transport.
Leader of Lancashire County Council, County Councillor John West, said: "The Local Transport Plan we submit to the Government in July 2000 will be made up from the many views we receive not only from businesses and organisations, but from the residents of Lancashire."
