SPORTING achievement at Lytham St Annes High technology College has earned a prestigious award.
The Sportsmark is presented to schools which show commitment to developing sport to a high level both with the school and the local community.
This year many school teams have won honours, the most recent being the lifting of the Harry Johnston cup at Bloomfield Road by Year 11 footballers.
The school also boasts two current student internationals at basketball and swimming, while several other pupils have gained county honours.
In addition, huge developments have been made through the all-weather Ansdell Arena which has allowed links with many community clubs.
Frank Towers, the school's director physical education and leisure pursuits, commented: "All this is a tremendous achievement for the school and reflects the hard work of both staff and students in physical education lessons and extra curricular activities.
