REGARDING secondary school selection in East Lancashire, this year some children living in the Ribble Valley have been offered secondary school places outside the borough.
Consequently, a campaign has been started to urge Lancashire Education Authority to ensure that there are adequate places made available locally, not only for this year for for future years.
The campaign, which has the backing of local MP Nigel Evans, includes a petition, which will be presented by councillors to a Ribble Valley Council meeting in July.
Anyone wishing to sign the petition, or help collect signatures, should contact me on Blackburn 249297.
