AS Vice President of Help the Aged's celebrity support committee, Stage for Age, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff and customers at your local Tesco store for adopting Help the Aged as their Charity of the Year in 1998.
Thanks to the fundraising efforts of Tesco staff across the country, we are delighted to announce that £1.1 million has been raised for the Help the Aged Brighter Future Appeal!
Tesco employees organised all sorts of events from the sublime to the ridiculous to raise funds and many stores also laid on entertainment for local senior citizens.
The Brighter Futures Appeal aims to raise £2 million over two years to provide older people with the dignity, independence, care and guidance they deserve. Thanks to Tesco, we are well on our way to our target.
