ON your marks! Entries are being taken for the 1999 Selwyn Sprint Triathlon.
This gruelling event, staged at the Selwyn Jones Sports Centre, Newton-le-Willows, takes place on Sunday, July 4.
It involves a 250-metre swim, a six-mile cycle and a two-mile run.
Athletes can compete as a team of three (completing one discipline each), or as an individual. There are separate categories for male and female individuals, as well as all-male, all-female and mixed teams.
Entry fees are £5 for individuals and £9 for teams. Closing date is Friday, June 18 and the field is limited to a maximum of 200.
