THE Archdeacon of Lancaster, Robert Ladds, is being promoted to Bishop of Whitby.
The delighted cleric, a father of three and former chemist, will start his new job on September 29 at a service of Consecration in York Minster.
Archdeacon Ladds said: "In my new role I am looking forward to full and fulfilling relationships with all colleagues, ordained and lay.
"I see the parish as the place where the church is 'at', and the diocesan provisions and structures as serving and enabling that life and mission."
