NEW Mayor of St Helens, Councillor Pat Jackson, was sworn in at the traditional Mayor Making ceremony at St Helens Town Hall yesterday (Wednesday).
Councillor Jackson (49) has been a member of Bold Parish Council since 1995 and has represented the Sutton and Bold ward of the borough council since 1996.
She was born in Clock Face then spent three years of her childhood in Eccleston before moving to Moss Bank, where she met husband, Jimmy, who will act as the Mayor's Consort. The couple have two children, Mark (29) and 23-year-old Victoria.
The Mayor's Appeal this year will be the Lady Pilkington Millennium Centre and the Deputy Mayor is Thatto Heath ward councillor, Pat Robinson.
MEANWHILE, the mayor is inviting the people of the borough to join her for the annual Mayor's Sunday on Sunday, May 23.
Residents, organsiations and community groups are invited to join the mayoral procession, which will leave the town hall at 10.05am and go via Cotham Street and Westfield Street for a service at St Thomas' C of E Church. A reception will be held afterwards at the town hall.
