THE countdown for a high school's big day on the airwaves has started.

For on Wednesday, 12 announcers will present a mix of news, music, interviews with East Lancashire personalities, weather and traffic conditions on 107FM from 8am to 7pm.
More than 30 other pupils have worked on back-up services and research.
Head teacher Stephen Ball, said: "It is a tremendous opportunity for these young people to show the community just how talented they are. I have heard some of the rehearsals and this station will reflect well on us."
